Vrooming on the highway...

Drove back home from IMM on Sat... HEHE!! Went along PIE...!! Reached 100km/h!! Today early morning drove my brother to school! Hehe... Went along ECP! But at the school, my father took over, think he felt uneasy for me to drive from Fort Road to NTU. Or else, I could have drove along AYE too! Haha!! So happy to drive!

CAC Dinner & Dance 2004

I didn't take photos during the last FOC, but managed to take many shoots on 21st Aug CAC DnD! Was quite unwilling to go in the first place, but in the end, was kind of persuaded to go.

It all started out on that morning where I had to go to school to meet my FYP prof at 11am. Duh... he wasn't in office, and when I called his hp, it rang inside the room! Hence, guessing he would be back shortly, I waiting for him at the lounge. He was back half an hour later. "Oh...! I forgot all about it! I have a last-minute meeting. Do you stay in campus? Can you come back later?"

So... I was back there at 1pm. After meeting him, I went back hall to bathe and pack. I didn't know why I was especially slow that day, I was in fact late in getting out from my room. Thus, I took a cab down to Paragon, being 15 min late for my 430pm makeover appointment at Hollywood Secrets with Jiehui.

The makeup took so long... We were there till 715pm!!! It was actually quite simple stuff like make-up and hair styling and photoshoots! But I guess they are just slow.

We were supposed to reach Crown Prince Hotel at 6pm, which is across the road of Paragon. We rushed there like mad after the photoshoots. Took the lift up, and we were almost the last few to arrive. Dinner has already started. We walked in embarassed, partly because we were late, and partly because of our dressing and make-up. We sat down at our table quickly. Hee. We were separated into two tables from our same gang of friends. But nonetheless, though less conversation, Adrian was sitting in the same table as me. HAHA.

SDU was there to organise the games. As the name suggested, yeah, very SDU-style. The government is concern of our partners ok! But our table was quite a spoil-sport. We didn't participate in the games. And when the Emcee, Lawrence Wong (acting in Durian King), called out for Table 17, we didn't even respond. How sad.

The dinner went on, together with the games, and Pagent and Man-Hunt. The dinner was served rushed-ly. Kind of gan chiong. But the Emcee managed to liven up the spirits and atmosphere of the dinner really well. A Jim-Carey look-alike. Very expression-ful. Haha.

After the whole thing ended, it was endless rounds of photo-taking. Baby was taking pictures of herself by herself. She just loved herself too much.

Went back to the hotel room, changed into something comfortable and went to Da Pai Tang for supper as the dinner was unfilling. The food was lousy compared to previous years.

Then we took turns to bathe, and everyone only got to sleep at nearly 4am. There were some complications in the middle as the hotel management came up knocking on our doors saying we were too noisy and there were complains. We were asked to leave, only 3 were allowed to stay. Tracy went to negotiate terms with them, and phew, they told us to clear our rooms before 8am. But clever Tracy put on the "Do-Not-Disturb" sign and they were unable to check on us at 8am.

Then it was going-home time. Reached home, shacked out, but didn't nap. Practised my piano, cooked dinner and wash my clothes. On my way back to hall that night, I concussed on the MRT.

What an eventful weekend. I didn't regret going for the DnD, Peishi!

Another expensive present

I went to buy my new violin today at Wing Classic. My mum gave me budget of $1k. Hence, I got something $1k exact. I had a 8% discount cos' I mentioned Mr Chu's name (entitling to 5%) and going to their showroom (another 3%). I realised that many violin sellers actually brings some violins directly to your doorstep to sell. But little did I know that I could get much discount by going down myself! HAHA! He even gave me a free shoulder rest. All and all, I paid $920. Happy!! I like the sound, the bow and the violin case! Spur me to even practise harder!!

Nowadays, (on piano now), beside practising Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement, I'm now playing his Pathetique 1st movement. Going to get his style right... think I'm beginning to become mad like him. His pieces are very mad!! But very play-applicable when you're in a very lousy mood.

Alwyn has a new gf! Saw his friendster a few minutes ago. Actually it's easy to get attached, it's a matter of your choice of partners. Recently, I've just been intimidated by a guy from SE. Think I've been treating him very bad for the past few days. Haiz, I just treat him as a friend. Don't want him to think otherwise. Think being single has more pros. And I wanna choose the best. Don't wanna "wei le jie hun er jie hun".

I got my blue card with a lion head! Haha! Yeah, my driving license is ready and I collected it at the post office today. Hee. Suddenly I got the urge to earn lotsa money and buy myself a car.

FYP's getting tough. Haiz. My heart is not in school. My heart is with my piano at home, with my violin on top of my desk shelf, heart with career being a piano teacher. My parents want me to study in NIE after I grad to become a teacher. BUT I DON'T WANT! Sob!!

My Guardian Angel

I dreamt of Hacken Lee last night!! He came to Singapore for some Toyota Soluna (analogous Formula One) and his new CD publicity! And he came to my house!!! I wonder why the dream was so strange! Then I took out some of my CDs to let him autograph them! HAHA! It felt like he was some close family of mine. The feeling was warm. =P I was feeling so happy when I woke up in the early morning to meet my friends for lab practise.

School sux man! With lousy lecturers. Sigh. So much to study! ARGHH! It is already the 4th week in school!! So fast!!

Something I Finally HAVE!!

Oh yeah!! It was such a happy day! I finally got my driving license!! Woke up at 545am and was there for my warm-up session at 725am. As told by my previous instructors, I will get a newer car. Well, the touch of the car wasn't that good. But wasn't too bad either. So went to do the circuits for one time and went outside on the roads for a while. The warm-up session was so short! I thought it would be longer, but it was barely half an hour!

Stomach in a knot, hands shivering... That's what I always get before a test or exam - Nervousness. I hate this kind of feeling. Stomache will follow, and then will need to go toilet. Then followed by a full bladder. Shucks. Since young, I can never calm myself down.

So there I went into the waiting room. Balloted for my test route. 9!! A route I've only practised once!!! But lucky me, didn't kena 6 and 7 - the most difficult route of the 10 routes.

The tester came, called out my name, and I led him to the car. Did everything as per normal, adjusted the seat, mirrors, and put on the seat belt.... everything with a bit of nervousness. Then he asked me to turn left into the circuit even before he put on his seat belt. He felt my nervousness and told me not to be nervous. I attempted to turn left at a junction and he said," Go Straight! I didn't ask you to turn!!" I thought it was gone case already. Not following instructions constitutes an immediate failure!

I did ok on the slope! I didn't slide backwards! Everything seemed so fast, one after another. Parking was good! I got all the sighting points accurately. The tester was the "gan chiong" type. Kept asking me to go on even before I finished one part of the circuit. Maybe he wanted to see if I would react rashly to his instructions. But overall, he didn't have a happy face. His face was quite "black".

The road outside was good. Didn't have to do much lane-change. Good traffic too! Overtook a bus from the back into the filter lane to the left. Was really close to the bus rear. One car even gave way to me when I needed to lane-change to the right. Without realising, I was back at the driving center again, and followed the tester upstairs to the police department. We went into a room, sat down, and unexpectedly, he threw my IC back at me. I was shocked. It was so rude to throw! Humpf!! And didn't even debrief me on what and how I faired. Not even a word. Nonetheless, I thanked him out of politeness and went back to the office to close my account and get some paper work done. However, thinking back, I think he was very lenient with me. Oh ya, HAHA! I passed with 12 points. Demerit on speed too slow for traffic conditions, failure to use engine brake (which I think I did use everytime!!), inappropriate gear (due to tester's sudden change of instructions) and failure to position my vehicle properly (which I guess is while waiting for the right-turn). Sigh. I could have done better if not for my stupid nervousness.

Carried on to watch a video, then went back to pay for the driving license. Relieved. How not easy it is to get this card. And expensive. But I'm so glad it's over. When I was leaving the driving center, sadness overwhelms me. I am actually quite sad. It means no more driving lessons, no more meeting my instructors, no more taking bus 8 and changing buses to the center, no more walking past the security, no more paying 10 cents for the toilet, no more looking for my numbered car and no more driving Toyota Soluna.

Pri Sch Gathering

Went for my primary school gathering on Sat. Unbelievable that we're still having gatherings? Actually this is the second time already. This time there weren't many people. Only 8 of us.

So here's the update, Meihui... who couldn't join us... And some names for you to recall:

Oh by the way! Ou Chun Kit is in NTU!!! ARGGHHH!! HAHA! I saw him last week!!

Joscelyn is now an air-stewardess, like Huiyee. Peiyi is undergoing training now. So many friends are air-stewardess. Ah hui, you missed out quite a lot of fun and updates. We went to eat at Rice Table, then went to Paulaner for drinks. Too bad we didn't take any photographs. Or else you would have seen their pretty and handsome faces. Zhiwei indeed has a gf now - an NIE grad. Bernard too, gf is an EDB scholar like him. Jeremy is still single, having flings once in a while. Pamela has grad, working as an accounts assistant now. Chu-er and Stella are in SIM.

Been quite busy with my stuff lately. Driving lessons, reading on FYP stuff, tutorials and music theory!! Sigh. I wished I had more time!

I saw Teck Wee in Canteen A today, Jiehui saw him first. Such suay-ness to see him. And even more suay to meet face to face in the library after lunch. I did try to smile, but he didn't respond. Maybe my smile was too vague and not obvious? Or maybe he didn't see cos' he is short-sighted? But I think the more probable answer is that he doesn't want to smile to me. =( Then the incident recollected in my head when we met on the MRT and so happened to sit beside each other, and he stood up and walked away from me. Sigh. Such a guy with no "du liang".

Alwyn stays near me again. From my window, I can see his room. Saw him in school on the first day of school last week. I'm so glad we are still friends. =)
