Work life has started

First day of work 25th July. Almost late. Got to the bus stop at 640am, and waiting for bus 17 till 655am. If the bus goes faster, I might be able to reach school by 720am. Saw no Hai Sing student at the bus stop. Smells something fishy. Boarded the bus, none Haisians on board. Die. Is is a holiday today? No, I see many Ngee Ann and Dunman students. The bus crawled along Tampines Ave 2, then turned to Ave 7. Many cars. 710am already. Students alighted at TPJC bus stop and the one after. No good. Jam is getting bad! The bus is still crawling! I got off the bus. Prayed for a cab to come. Not to be late for work again?!?! I was late for work on the first day I worked at HP. Got a mercedes cab!!! Thank god! The driver cut lanes and zoomed me to school in just 4 minutes!!! And cost me $4. I stepped into the school at 7:19am. Ask for directions to the general office. Amazed by what I saw. The students were all seated on the parade square reading their story books! I rushed into the office, and was told to wait at the lounge. No need to attend assembly, hmm. The chime went at 725am. National anthem was sung followed by the pledge. The principal introduced the 4 new teachers to the students. But I wasn't at the assembly ground!

Then the Principal welcomed and briefed the 4 of us. We were showed our seats. Hehe, we've got new tables, they changed part of the pantry into tables for us. I'm so happy I've got a new table all to myself! And a comfortable chair, and a locker under my table. The best is I'm in a corner, can slack anytime! Then we toured the school briefly, and realised the school compound was similar to my sec sch. It wasn't too difficult to get around the school for me. Afterwhich, we met up with our respective HODs. I got my timetable and will be teaching 3 subjects - Combined Physics, E and A Maths, and attached to the graduating classes, both the 4 Express and 5 Normals. I do not need to teach, but will be assisting the teachers in any ways. I only need to sit in office today and I read up on textbooks. Shucks, can't remember so much stuff! Lunch was the food in canteen. It was cheap, only $1 for most of the things! I had chicken bryani for $1.60.

Day 2 - 26th July. Ultimately wet day. Hoping to be on time, left the house at 630am. Raining cats and dogs, bananas and papayas. Stood in the rain, wanted to take cab. And my cab was snatched by a stupid maid sending her mistress to school. TMD! Then I walked further up to flag. 655am. Shucks. No cab in sight! Called all the cab companies. All engaged tones. *Become hysterical* Called sleeping brother. Asked him to send me to school. 7:01am. Got on the car with my pants all wet and shoes soaked with water. Totally jammed along the way. *turns hysterical* Brother said there's no need to worry, cos' definitely gonna be late! Asked him what reason to give, he said "severe jam". Got me laughing for moment. But tears were brimming in my eyes.

Reached 735am. DM alike said,"Bad weather, isn't it?" Sounds nice, but don't know if it carried a sacastic meaning.

Luckily not late for the first period of lesson. First time enter the classroom with all eyes on me. Feel so weird! The first period was with 5N1. They gonna draw graph. Couldn't rem a lot, but slowly, came back. Then had Maths lessons. Physics lesson on radioactive was very interesting by Mr Yap. He was a Mechanical Engineer but switched to teaching. Then after school, there was Math mock exam invigilation. After that, I went to the Popular in White Sands and bought TYS. *SCREAMS!* Really need to get ready to do revisions with the kids!

Day 3 and Day 4 - 27th and 28th July. We went for a course at MOE Cluster Schools somewhere in Redhill. 830am to 530pm. 2 long and tedious days. But there were a lot of things learnt and many friends made. After I got home, I struggled through A Maths prelim papers. I had to come up with the solutions. ARGH, someone return me my memory!

Day 5 - 29th July. Finally in time for school. I took the MRT instead, less the trouble of jamming. Phew. Went to lab with 5N2. They did an experiment on Moments. These people are damn noisy, and had untidy handwriting on their papers, especially the guys! OMG! They never read the instructions, and many copied each other. Chaos in the lab man! But it was pretty interesting to walk around and guide them. Then went for Mr Yap's Physics class with 4N1. Went in, and some of them said,"Cher, cher, you very pretty!" Haha, but I was talking to another boy in class, so I ignored that remark. They will be sitting for their N levels soon. All the classes I've been to have a few black sheeps. I guess it takes some skill to control them. Used to the feeling of entering the class with all eyes on me. Guess it will be more intimidating when it's my turn to teach the class. Grr, I hate attention like this.

Of Feet and Shoes (Of Mice and Men)

I spent another yet unfruitful day doodling with PS2. It was my brother who suggested to play it yesterday. All thanks to him, there goes the time to read up on Physics and violin practise. Mum is away in Beijing, so hence, the 3 pigs at home are on rampage.

While MH (younger brother) was out and MK (youngest brother) was in school, I went to Tampines Central to shop for my shoes. Needed some appropriate shoes for teaching! Finally got to a shop in Century Square in a corner and got them! They were beige in colour and I really love them! Had been looking around for shoes like that, but they didn't give me a good feeling. And I got my shoes for $29.55 after a 20% discount!

Then I shopped for some tops at Metro and Double Index. Roughly adding up to $70+++, near to $80 I guess. ~$~

Adding on to the damage, I went for my life's every first - a express pedicure for $15 at Nails In Vouge. Express pedicure only covers filing of nails and painting with nail art on 2 toes. I kind of like it! Maybe next time can consider going for a full pedicure!

I'm going to skip my SE practise tomorrow. Don't want to spoil the practise session. Think ZH will drill the performers for Monday's gig, and the non-performers will sit there staring. Or am I making excuses for myself? Recently has been thinking if I should get my Piano diploma. It seems something far-fetched. How about violin? Haven't been improving after playing for so long. Should I really get serious lessons? But where's the time?

Should I get tuition kids? Should I get music students? Money seems to be everything I'm thinking now.

A guy sms me at 730am this morning! TMD! The msg wrote: good morning! Time 2 wake up!
What the hell? Did I request for a morning call? Instead of a good morning, it became a frustrated morning. Had some trouble getting into sleep last night, and woken up by MK going to school at 630am. I suppose I'm anxious over my first day at Hai Sing Catholic School. I suppose I miss HIM even more. Shan't think so much now, he's trying hard to get over his ex now.

Has any girl cried for you?

Has any ger cried for u before?

If a gal cries in front of u,
it means dat she couldn't take it anymore.
If u take her hand,
she would stay with u for e rest of ur life;
If u let her go,
she couldnt go back to being herself anymore.

A gal won't cry easily,
except in front of e person who she love e most,
she becomes weak.

A gal won't cry easily,
only when she love u e most,
she puts down her ego.

Guys, if a gal cries bcoz of u,
please hold her hands firmly,
she's the one who would stay with u for e rest of ur life.

Guys, if a gal cries bcoz of u,
please don't give her up,
maybe bcoz of ur decision,
u ruin her life.

When she cries rite in front of u,
when she cries bcoz of u,
look into her eyes,
can u see n feel e pain n hurt she's feeling?
Think.
Which other girl have cried wif pure sincerity,
infront of u,
and bcoz of u?

She cries not because she is weak,
she cries not bcoz she wants sympathy or pity.
She cries,
because crying silently is no longer possible,
e pain, hurt,n agony have become too big a burden to be kept inside.

Think about it.
If a gal cries her heart out to u,
and all because of u,
its time to look back on what u have done.
Only u will know e answer to it.

Do consider it,
Coz one day,
It may be too late fot regrets,
It may be too late to say" i am sorry".

Maybe in ur life,
she's the onli one who will love u e most.

Shopping Spree

Met up with Von and JH today at TM today at 1pm. Yeah! They came to Tampines! Wah, I'm so happy. And on we went for our shopping! I needed to shop for skirts for teaching. In the end I got 3 skirts, 1 pants and 1 top! And all of them were chosen by JH and Von. They said my taste is bad. !#)&X#*$!@*# But, after trying what they chose for me, I must agree they were pretty. Hehe.

Total damage today: (In brackets are the discounted prices)
Red2 = $42 ($37.80)
OSMOSE = $39 ($31.20)
bYSI = $94 ($61.10)
U2 = $43 ($21.50)
Giodarno = $14 ($11.90)

Total Damage for the day = $163.50
Total Savings made during sales = $68.50

Hehe, very satisfied. Maybe next time need to get a few more tops.

And there was Chocolate Fantasy at Century Square due to the Singapore Food Festival. For every purchase of $30 and above, one can get a dip in the chocolate fountain! And for ladies shoppers, they get two dips!!! Von and I had together 3 receipts more than $30, and we got 6 dips! JH didn't buy more than $30, so I gave 2 dips to her. So what dipped into the chocolate? It was strawberry, rock melon and marshmellows!!!

Enough calories of the day. But the chocolate was heavenly. Not those watery tasteless chocolate ok! It was aromatic and thick! NICE!

Sakae!

Went Sakae at Marina Square with CP, JH, Von and my Mum! Supposed to meet at 230pm at City Hall MRT, but due to the rain, they were late! I was late too, cos I couldn't find that stupid Sakae!! Walked through City Link, then up the escalator to Marina Square. I came to DP Architects. Almost entered. Then turned left and walked under the sheltered walkway to Marina Square. Entered Marina Square, went up the escalator. Saw Pariss International Restaurant, then went up the escalator again! And then it was the food court! ARGH!??! No way out!! (YT, I finally know how flustered and lost you were last time!) So I went to Pariss to ask for the way to GV cinema (which YT did last time) but the person didn't know what is Marina Square!!! OMG! I hate that place which is under renovation now! GRRR!! Following my Mum who said,"Only the ground floor will have the connection!", we went down the escalator again and saw the sign which said,"MORE SHOPS" pointing in the direction. GRRR. So in the end, we ate Sakae at 330pm. They were still later than me. Bleah!

Ate lotsa salmon sushi! But they didn't have salmon kamage today. And the chawanmushi tasted sour. Think I ate lesser today compared to other times. Haha, and we got to eat the buffet at student's price! Haha! I'm glad NTU didn't collect back our matric card! My mum joked she is a senior citizen and the waiter actually believed her! So she got the senior citizen price too!

Von gave me this:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

A jewel box with Fur Elise music and a dancing ballerina! Though it isn't the kind of musical box I wanted in mind, I still liked it! Thanks baby!

My mum left for home after we finished the buffet at 6pm. The 5 of us then went Bakers Inn for drinks. I had rose tea. It wasn't as nice as the one I had in Taiwan. This was a bit bland. CP had mocha which has a heart shape on the foam!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Nice right?

Then we chatted till 930pm and decided to go home. Met Jkai on the bridge to esplanade. He is having Hall 15 FOC there, on food expedition. Chatted again for 10 min.

Finally finished reading the Qiong Yao novel which I started like 3 months ago! Haha, been reading it so slowly, but was determined to finish it by this week. The story only became more interesting at the half of the book. 3 more books to go. Shan't start at the moment. Need to read finish the Physics textbook!

"A" didn't wish me happy birthday. I was disappointed. But I have a feeling he is overseas. Maybe that's why.

Freaking 23

Too much alcohol? I didn't have a good sleep. Kept tossing and turning last night. Woke up at 930am. How did I survive with so much alcohol and only 6 hours of disturbed sleep? Anyway, I had the most drinks in my life yesterday.

Did housework after I washed my face. Birthday also must do ok! Then the laundry while waiting for mum to get home. She had an event at the CC this morning. There was a big cake from Q Bread in the fridge. Already cut up. Bleah, didn't even wait for me to sing birthday song. My dad la, always like that.

When she got back, my dad drove out for lunch! My youngest brother didn't go. He didn't like dim sum. Somemore he was going out. Cauz, never give me face. We went to Suntec City, Pearl River Palace Restaurant for dim sum! I had actually made the booking like 3 days ago. It is to celebrate my Dad's and mine birthday together. His birthday is on the 22nd. The carpark was crowded with cars, and we had to walk quite far to the Convention Center where the restaurant is.

The dim sum was quite ok only, but pricy. Much overrated by my friends who've been there. Think the best dim sum I've ever eaten is still in HK. The total bill was $80++. But we didn't really order much. The dim sum came out quite slow and our hunger subsided with the long wait. Surprisingly the parking was cheap. 2 hours only for $1.05. CDB area leh!

In the night, had instant noodles. No mee sua. =( And sent Dad off to the airport. Happy Birthday to ME!

A Surprise!

After the short string practise today, Ruiting, Angela, Yi Ting, Yong Han, K Yong and I went to JP for dinner at Bistro Delifrance! The food was quite ok, with free bread. But Cafe Cartel would be more worth it with bigger portions.

Then we went to catch Fantastic Four! Luckily K Yong booked the tickets a day ago, cos' the theatre was kinda full. And the seats we got were good, just right for the visual line. *Tip from KY: Remember to get seats about a third from behind.* The show was quite good! Very like the comic. The show started with the 4 leads in space suit. The video resolution wasn't good, and for a moment I thought I was watching Star Wars. Their space suits real retro can! Jessica Alba combed her hair in the retro way too but she's damn stunning! Woo!

Questions from the movie:
"Chemistry 101. What happen to plastics if they are supercooled?"
Ans: They become very brittle!

This is why Victor Von Doom (Dr Doom) wanted to break Reed Richard (Mr Fantastic)'s index finger.

"Chemistry 101. What happen to metals if you rapidly cool them?"
Ans: They become super hard! Rapid cooling causes martensite to form. Martensite is the strongest and hardest phase of metals. However, they are the most brittle, having negligible ductility.
This is why Mr Doom became "stoned" after Mr Fantastic quenched him with water from the hydrant, after Johnny Storm (The Human Torch) melted him with his fire.

Materials engineer will think in this way. Haha.

After that Ruiting left us cos' she had to go attend a birthday party. The 5 of us then took MRT to Raffles Place. Along the journey, they snapped photos of me and KY cos' we coincidentally wore yellow that day. Grr. And so coincidentally, the rest wore black. Haha. Upon reaching, we walked to Boat Quay. We're gonna chill out tonight!

Samantha and Huiwen joined us at the MRT. Yeah, more people means more fun! Very long haven't gone out with so many people together! So, after walking a while along Boat Quay, we decided to settle down at COLORS bar. Nice ambience inside! The dimmed lights were colourful, the sofa and satin curtains were all of different colours. The small bar added on to a cosy feeling. We sat down, and I took the inside sofa (hehe) and ordered drinks. Kind of expensive though. And I ordered Paradise. Don't taste nice. Think Sam's God Mother and KY's Kamikaze were nicer.

Then Zhong Ji Mi Ma started. The loser had to finish the drink in the middle. It started out with lime vodka, then Heineken beer. Kena a few times! Adding on to my Paradise, I was in fact quite hot in the ears and red in the face. And my head was beginning to get heavy. Hate this kind of feeling. Makes me weak. Not long after, it was turning midnight. Xiaoqing came and joined us. She already had a long day teaching violin. Turning sleepy, I got up and went to the toilet. Then I heard some of them stopping me to go toilet. But I really need to go la. So I staggered my way through. When I got out of the toilet, I heard a loud birthday song singing against the loud music mixed by the DJ there. I thought the table next to us were celebrating their friend's birthday. So I was like thinking,"Eh, somebody same birthday as me?"

It was dark inside the bar and plus I was a bit tipsy, I staggered my way back to my seat, but was already occupied by... RUITING?!??! Huh, what's she doing here? And they were all clapping and singing the birthday song?! HUH? Was I dreaming? *rubbed my eyes* Yes! It just past midnight and is my birthday today! Elated was I, looking at the Polar chocolate walnut cake, I glee so happily. Touched. (RT later said the birthday party was mine loh! She went to get the cake. And Angela and her had to get in from the back door so that I won't see it. Thanks guys. Haha, and sorry for indirectly causing you two to meet the rats and cats behind that alley!)

"Make a wish!"

"* **** ** ** ****** **** * ****"

Hahha... guess? ^x^ Then I blew out the candles. Freaking 23rd already! TMD!

Then it was lotsa pictures and pictures. And elation and exhilaration.

They got me this together:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
A necklace! SK Jewellery. Tian tian dou shi zuan shi tian! I love it!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Yi Ting gave me this: Ginger lotion and body wash!! WAH! Can't wait to try them!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Samantha gave me this: A really nice handmade card and an Australia print towel!

Then it was more games - the froggy game, and the 7-up game. More Heinekan and later became Whisky coke. That taste like hospital! I don't like it. Being very bad at mental sums, I lost the most at the 7-up game. Luckily, KY helped me drank up a glass of that terrible Whisky coke. But the rest of the glasses, I gulped them down without breathing. Eeeks!

2am. Everyone was tired. Time to go home. I was real tired and 70% drunk. Cannot take it anymore!! On the verge of puking man! We said our goodbyes and got some hugs, then separated and went home. Haha, it was already 240am. Quickly took a quick shower and dropped dead on the bead, with rushing blood in my veins. Thanks guys for so much! I really enjoyed myself!

Convocation

I woke up at 7am, had half a chicken pie and a glass of ginseng water for breakfast. Then I changed into long sleeves white blouse and black skirt. Luckily the weather wasn't very hot. Then my Dad drove my mum and I to NTU at 810am.

There was a bit of jam towards Eunos and later in Clementi. Luckily I wasn't very late, reached about 905am. Quickly walked to Nanyang Auditorium and got changed. YH, JH and David weren't there. We were supposed to meet at the postcard stand at Coffee Club Express. So thinking they would be late, I wore my gown first. But they were actually inside changing liao.

There were many people lining up, and I was quite blur about what to do. Luckily, there were marshalls asking if we needed help. They were friendly leh! I quickly found out my number was 345 and seat number G45. My parents then went in to sit and I queued up in line. Everyone was in high spirits and the girls were made-up, and guys look dashing in their ties and leather shoes.

After all the parents were seated, we walked in line by line and all parents turned their heads, eagerly looking out for their child. After that, Dr Tony Tan, DPM came. The lecturers dressed in their own gowns then walked in, followed by Dr Nathan, President of Singapore. Then the National Anthem was broadcasted.

Dr Su Guan Ning gave his opening speech. Then Mr President gave out the empty degree folders to the PhDs and masters holders. I thought I could get a handshake from him, but when it became our turn, a different person gave out the degree folders to us. No chance of shaking Mr President's hands.

I was quite nervous before going up, kept thinking what to do on stage and how I should say my thank you. In the end, I didn't trip (phew) and the person was really nice, saying "Congrats to you!" I wasn't so nervous after all. I turned and pose for the camera and it snapped. Hope the stage photo will turn out nice. Cost $12 ok!

10 seconds on stage for 4 years of slogging. Say goodbye to pocket money from my Dad. Goodbye to carefree holidays. And now, have to dread about CPF, income tax, insurance coverage, how much to scrimp and how much to give parents. *BLEAH*

After the ceremony, we bid goodbye to our parents. After which, we took the MRT to City Hall. Then we had lunch at Cafe Cartel in Raffles City. We walked to Supreme Court, VCH, Arts Museum, Boat Quay, then Fullerton. Our legs were so tired by then!

*Photos are uploaded. You need to log in to see.*

I'm surprised he was online tonight. I thought he was kind of tired after the day's work. We chatted for a long while till 2am, until I told him I need to pack for KL. I was surprised he actually talked so much to me, especially it was regarding his personal matters. Hope my consolation helped.

New background music

Hey, ya listening??? It's Selena - Dreaming of You. Finally found a webbie to host the mp3. If you want to stop the music, you can press the red cross at your explorer toolbar. Then you can concentrate reading right?

A little story to share... this song meant a lot to me. My first boyfriend used this song to woo me. And after we broke up, I dedicated this song on Perfect 10 for him, hoping to patch back. But he didn't hear it. His friend heard it and told him about it. He called the next day and kind of reprimanded me. Cos' we were still young then, he was afraid his parents might hear it on air and told me not to do it again. And he didn't want a patch. Maybe I was tactless then. Young mah.

Ok, gotta go sleep le! Convocation later! Need to wake up at 7am!

ME Nite

After string practise, I stayed in the room to pass time before the ME dinner at 7pm. K Yong also having dinner at 7pm with the band people and we accompanied each other. Was nice talking to him!

Then left NYH to NEC at SRC for the dinner. David, YH and JH was late loh! I sat at the track stand and waited for them for 20 mins. Grrrr. We were all dressed very nice, and I think David got fatter! Oops. Haha!

We walked to NEC and took the lift to the 3rd floor. There wasn't many people. About 100 I think.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The bag from U2!! The one I saw in Hong Kong, but never seen this size in SG! And it's pink! Can put A4 size things in... just right for a teacher right? Haha. Thanks guys, I love it!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Haha! And a red pen! A nice inked red! I love it!

Feel so paiseh they had to give me when everyone was seated around the table. There were games and entertainment, very similar to all the dinners I went to. But nonetheless, I still had a good time laughing. Prof Gan had to dance on stage, and he really couldn't dance. Spoil my impression of him!! The dinner was catered from Stamford catering, the daily food I used to eat in HP canteen during my IA days. It was quite ok for the $5 ticket.

The lucky draw prizes were sponsered by the school, and I didn't win any!! First prize was a digital camera leh!!! Second prize was an MP3 player!!! I can't remember the third. But the 4th and 5th were $100 Takashimaya vouchers!!! Boohoo...

Then we took lotsa photos using OTHER people's camera, cos neither of them brought one, and I don't have one! In the end, desperate us were using our handphone cameras. Haha.

When he came over to talk to David, I quickly asked them to snap a photo together. *main objective is to take for JH to see* Muahahahha!! JH, you can edit it!

Finally went to chill out le!!! We went to Harry's Bar after that! We flagged the cab at the ulu SRC road and David was so nice to pay the cab fare, cos' he said he's working mah! We reached there at 1030pm.

Jiehui bought her Motorola V3 finally for $298 (if I didn't remember wrongly). These pictures below were taken by her handphone camera. She didn't even know the specs for this phone when I asked her. Aiyoh. I found out the specs online myself. Hers is a black Special Edition V3 ok! Not the silverish one hor!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

We sat and chatted there, about work, about girls for David and guys for us. It was 2am very quickly and Harry's Bar was closing. I thought their closing time was 3am. So, we took cabs home. Cost me $14! It was a good night's sleep with a bit of alcohol in the blood. Haha.

Tired Day

I was feeling happy today, cos' I received an sms, hehe, from someone in the morning. Though it wasn't any touching, loving sms, it really made my day!!

I wonder why I was so tired today! My mum asked me to accompany her to Orchard and I had to drag my lazy bones there. Even slept on the MRT to Orchard. It was already 3 plus when we reached there. Stupid Orchard, why has it gotta be so far away from my house? Dread to go Orchard!!

Hey, btw, my ezlink card went "di" instead of "didi"! Haha. No more student sound!

So we went to collect our Isetan vouchers given by UOB bank. Then shopped inside Shaw House. And I bought another top from Potpourri for $23.90. It is dark green in colour and is really nice. It's a bit low cut though. Wanted to buy a matching skirt but didn't really like the skirt then. Now, I regretted buying.

Then I looked for some shoes suitable for teaching, but the one I wanted didn't have my size. Bleah! Feeling hungry, we intially wanted to go Bugis Junction for the Food Fair. But we stopped at The Marketplace while walking to the MRT. There were lotsa finger food inside too. We had Taiwan's oyster mee sua. A real oyster ok! Not zhu chang anymore!! I made sure it was oyster.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It was a costly $3 for a small container. Inside only had 3 pathetic oysters. I was quite scared to take the first bite, cos' I was really afraid of the same disgusting taste I ate in Taiwan. But luckily, it turned out to be good leh!!

Then we bought some potato croquette, salmon croquette and seafood croquette. They were expensive considering how small they were. But nevertheless, tasty!

We were too full and tired to go Bugis Junction for the Food Fair. Somemore, already 6pm, people knock off liao! Sure gonna be crowded there! We proceeded home.

And guess what there was in the letterbox for me??

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Sakae Sushi $20 voucher!!! Only condition that it isn't applicable for buffet. Wah, this means I can have 3 plates of salmon sashimi free!!!!! I feel like I'm in heaven. *hehehehehehehehehehe*

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
